At tonight’s barbecue festivities, folks, my brother mentioned two food oddities he came across during his travels through the US and Canada.
The first being a combination of lemonade and iced tea, called Arnold Palmer. Named after the golf player with the same name. Aparently it’s very good.
Pleas let me know if you’ve ever had it.

The second is a hot dog, which is cut in a certain way, before being cooked on a barbecue, making both ends curl up in a sort of kind of spidery fashion.

The name … drumroll please …

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

A Spider Dog.

We all know the spiderman and the spiderpig, but if you ever have the chance, try the spider dog! Preferably at a large bonfire near a lake somewhere in Canada.
It took a little time for tge name to pop up, but thankfully my sister-in-law Carolijn remembered it just before we went insane and all the food turned black. She also mention I should use it as inspiration for today’s piano piece.

As we’re watching the closing ceremony of the London Olympics, perhaps I should have called the piece Spice Dog.

Any recipes and other weird names for foodpreparation are very welcome!

Thank you for listening!
