It Is Green And It Sings
Not a frog.
Today was my first day as music teacher for the three to seven year olds at the local music school located on the historic Rapenburg in Leiden.
The poor children have already experienced three teachers before me, so they were slightly wobbly, but I am sure we’ll have a splendid time!!
The photograph below is the front page of a local newspaper from last week. Yep, that is me.

Cheesecake
Number 400 people!
To celebrate I made us a cheesecake, which is just about done.
The base is made of chocalate chip cookies, the cheesy part is flavoured with grapefruit juice, lemon zest and vanilla and the topping will be fresh raspberries and blueberries.
That should keep our tastebuds wandering about in mild confusion for a while…
Bon appetit!

Heaven Can Wait
Recorded live during our third songcycle thingy.
The location: En Pluche in Amsterdam. This actually the exact spot where I had the idea for the Daily Piano Pieces a couple of years ago when I did a series of concerts with students from the academy.
Sadly, I forgot to bring my microphone today, but let’s get nostalgic and remember them early days (a year ago) when the thought of an external mic hadn’t even occurred to me
Thank you for listening!

Better Than Life
This is the music for a new song for our new play, which opens next week.
The original dutch lyrics are by Julia Berendse, one of our very talented students. The play is written and directed by Theo Nijland, a brilliant songwriter and composer. Check out his stuff on his site, or on spotify.
For tickets and information click here.
Thank you for listening.

To celebrate one year of Daily Piano Pieces I have created four cd's for you to download.
Jazzy Red, High 'n White, Classic Green and Bluesy Blue
Enter your name and email below and I shall send you a link to the download page.
Happy times and happy listenings ;-)
